I love new clothes! They make me feel happy and all refreshed, a reflection of what I find lovely about fashion. I don’t consider myself a fashionista, generally choosing a look that’s more understated than bold, working with colors that make me look my brightest. But I will say I am very particular about what I wear and yes, everything has to match… I mean everything has to match. So when Tablots reached out to me about sponsoring my wardrobe to BlogHer 2011 I jumped at the chance to head to my favorite local store and find a great look to put my best fashion foot forward all week long.
My experience was similar to many others that I’ve had at the store ~ simply wonderful! My usual conference clothing strategy begins with taking a look at my closet, choosing some core pieces, and then scooting over to my Talbots to meet with their talented staff to mix it up a bit with accessories, a new scarf, and some new pieces that are on trend for the season. Always mindful of my budget, they work wonders with the sale section and between what I have and what is often on sale, I usually come out feeling like I’ve hit the jack pot. This time, we focused on current collections and it was off the hook amazing. I found myself in outfits I might not typically choose and loving them, working with color schemes that are both fresh and edgy for me, with more assistance than I could have dreamed, and the added bonus of meeting a visual artist from corporate who was simply divine making sure that I bring it on what makes Talbots truly rock. Take a look here:
You can have that same wonderful experience too by using the Talbots Style by Design Service Simply sign up on line, and “a Talbots fashion consultant will contact you personally to design a custom style solution and confirm a time for your complimentary, in-store Style by Design appointment within 24 hours of receiving your information.” You know how I love solutions that save you both time and money and in this case Talbots has made sure to give you the opportunity to do both. Without realizing it, I’ve been doing this all along and think its about time I did the same for my casual wardrobe too. Afterall, style doesn’t have to be limited to work!
To make it easy for you to check them out, Talbots has generously provided a $150 gift card for us to share as a BlogHer 2011 Giveaway!!!! We’ve got 2 ways to enter!

Disclosure: The Talbots Company has sponsored my wardrobe for BlogHer 2011. As part of this project, I am posting in advance of the event. My content is original and opinions entirely my own. However given that I’ve shopped at Talbots for more than 20 years and their clothing lines have long been my signature style, it’s fair to say we share many of the same opinions when it comes to classic style and trends that never end ~ enjoy!

Forget to tell my biggest fashion challenge. It’s staying within budget when not working, and finding clothes that work with multiple things. I’ve been known to buy some orphans, and never find the right top to the skirt or whatever. I’ve decided to change that.
My biggest fashion challenge is creating a workable wardrobe. I buy a piece here or there and I never think about how it works with my wardrobe as a whole. And then I end up wearing my old yoga pants or jeans because I can’t make outfits from the bits of stuff I have.

Leigh and Ashley I hear your on both ~budget is always king for me and then making sure to find pieces that work together always gets compromised. That’s what I’ve always loved about Talbots ~ great sales and wonderful collections to make it easy to coordinate =)
My biggest fashion challenge is finding things to fit this post-baby body and still feel cute. Oh, and budget!
Erin I think that’s the most challenging time of all! Transition clothes on a budget is key =)

my big challenge is toning it down!!!

My biggest challenge is finding something that looks good but is comfortable and easy-wear at the same time. With four kiddos, I can’t stress too much about a fancy, dry-clean-only top getting kid-i-fied or I’d never be able to focus on my daily activities!
I love the beautiful but comfortable look of the clothes you picked out.
Hi Angela! I think that’s a big issue for all moms ~ beautiful clothes that you don’t have buy over at the dry cleaners right? =)
My biggest fashion challenge is finding clothes that fit my 5 foot tall frame that is more curvy than boyish. I’m tired of all these alterations bills!
My greatest challenge is post-baby body… and my big breasts.

Hi Molly!! You look great in your new Talbots pieces. I tweeted your post out. My greatest fashion challenge is defining my style. I feel like I’m stuck in a rut. Love your new website look, btw. Have fun at BlogHer!!
Thank you Stephanie! You should really stop in to Talbots and let them push you outside the box with Style by Design ~ its such a wonderful service and ultimately, you make the final choice on what goes home. You also get to learn so much about trends + classics and I think we both would love to roll that way =)

My biggest fashion challenge is looking professional (often for my job that means a suit) while still under budget—I’m a state employee after all!

My biggest challenge is finding something that fits, that looks good, and is appropriate for my age!
My biggest challenge is finding something to wear on weekends. At work my uniform is a t-shirt and jeans everyday. On the weekends I want to wear something a little dressier.

I am a 50 year old grandmother, empty nesting this week and a returning nursing student. I need to learn how to dress. I’ve been a stay at home Mom for 26 years!
thank you and I love Talbots
Oh, I so could use this service! I am pear shaped, long waisted and tall. It is a disaster when I try to shop. Tops & pants are never quite the right length.
Oops must have hit the enter button too soon.

I love those capris!!!
My biggest challenge is finding pants that fit!
My biggest fashion challenge is finding cute shoes that are also comfortable enough to wear while standing up all day.
My biggest fashion challenge is scarves!!! I have a whole collection of some lovelies from Talbots, but find it hard to figure out how to properly wear them!!!! Thanks for the giveaway!!! Pat
My biggest challenge is finding pants that are long enough (I’m 5’11″) but not too long, as the ‘tall’ lengths for some companies have gone as long as 36″, which requires hemming…
Great outfits!
My biggest challenge is to stay stylish at all times while wearing flats. I’m unable to wear heals anymore due to an injury. It’s really difficult to plan my entire wardrobe around flat shoes. It’s very doubtful that I’ll ever wear heals again; so, there is my biggest challenge.
I’m an education major in college. I’m having a hard time finding clothes that are stylish, fit me, and are appropriate.
My biggest fashion challenge is trying to find shirts that fit nicely without showing all of the love handles on my back and waist area.

My biggest fashion challenge is color. I seem to purchase black, navy, grey and camel all the time!
My biggest challenge is finding affordable clothes that can double for work and out and about with the children to school and for activities. I have the very casual mommy at the park attire but need help to find clothes that can pull double duty. Thanks for the chance to get some help from a fabulous store!

My fashion challenge always seems to be finding pants that fit well, look good & feel very comfortable. Thanks for the entry.
Have fun @ Blogher!
I have to say, you were stylin’ and profilin’ girlfriend the entire time at BlogHer. My biggest problem is with losing all my weight is finding outfits that show off my new weight and not still have the frumpy look. I am so fashion challenged when it comes to me. Now, when it comes to my girls, I feel like I have it altogether.
my biggest fashion challenge – when I need an “outfit” – lunch with friends – girls night out. . .something out of my “uniform” without getting all trendy and crazy. . .

ok I tweeted the link – but have NO IDEA how to put a link to the specific tweet here. . .LOL https://twitter.com/hchybinski

You had the best shoes ever every time I bumped into you! What a fab giveaway. My challenge is finding clothes that work for a petite yet curvaceous (read busty) gal. Lengths and widths are complicated and shelling out extra money for tailoring requires entirely too much effort.
Just tweeted from @mariapilarclark and @DisneySMMagic. Tried to enter before midnight, but my power was out
Hopefully, you can still squeeze me into the random drawing!
