How do you define a top amusement park? Is it the rides, the special events year round, the cleanliness of the park and friendliness of the staff? Or is it something more sublime? That the park has something different, something unexpected that your family has never seen before, and that no matter what the attraction, it appeals to kids and adults alike, age does not apply. Sharing some thoughts from my visit to SeaWorld in June 2011. If you are looking for something special, its worth a peek!
Today we are in Sea World in Orlando, Florida! I am having a fantastic day ~ I’ve never been to Sea World before. So when Sea World Entertainmnet invited me to join them on Media Day at the Grand Reef at Discovery Cove and to check out the behind the scenes programs that Sea World executes nationwide for wildlife conservation, rescue around the country and even the world. I’ve been really impressed and I think sometimes its easy to overlook what an amusement park can be all about!
This one involves animals and is based on marine sciences. There’s also so much focused on birds and aviary. The best part might be the roller coasters, depending your family members. I’m standing in front of the awesome Manta and NO I’m too chicken to ride it but all four of my family members would definitely ride if they were here ~ and you even get wet! How cool that you actually lay down for the ride so that you are “swimming” like a sting ray.
I’m finding that in each place we visit, in Grand Reef, in the main park where we’ve seen Shamu, and the roller coasters, there is something for everyone and not necessarily requiring us to split up. This is key for a great vacation for me and my family with kids of all ages. I love discovering a destination where we can all spend the day together.
I hope you’ll follow my journey as we have a few more entries from here at Sea World, we’ll visit Busch Gardens tomorrow, and yes there will be Dolphins on Sunday! Tell me…
What do you love most about amusement parks? Roller coasters? Shows? Wildlife? Something else?
Thanks so much for stopping by ~ we’ll see you next time!
Disclosure: Special thanks to Sea World Entertainment for inviting me to attend their FAM. I was not asked to post about this event at anytime. My opinions are entirely my own.
