Taking Lovey to Disney World {Disney Tips}

Does your child have a Lovey?  Each of mine did and it is the memories of our middle child and his Lovey that are most endearing to my heart.  Much like Linus, he was never without his waffle weave blankies (we had many) and paci, ready to take on the world one footie jammie step at a time.  As long has he had his Lovey in, he could tackle anything, using it to make capes, wrap up other special play things, and just make things nice all the way around.

When it comes to travel, having your child’s Lovey along can make all the difference for smooth transitions and comforting reassurance at all the right times.  In the last few years we have been very blessed to visit Disney World and each time our elementary aged daughter has taken great care  all on her own to make sure to bring her Lovey.  It seems only fitting I ask her advice when it comes to taking Lovey to Disney World ~ check out her tips:

Lovey to Disney World

Choose a Lovey that will fit safely in a travel bag.

My daughter loves to make a travel bag for Disney World, including a handful of small items that might be fun to play with during down time at the hotel, a book to read from, and of course her Lovey for the trip at hand.  Choose a Lovey that will easily fit into a travel bag will keep it as clean as possible, give it a place to be stored while in the hotel room and you are out in the parks, and make it easy to keep close by if needed and you choose to bring it along.

Choose a Lovey that won’t break easily.

I am both personally and professionally smitten with Build-A-Bear Workshop.  For more than 15 years they have been helping children from ages 3 to 100 make furry friends to celebrate our lives and comfort our souls.  Their products are incredibly durable and should you have any problem at all, easy to mend as you can see in the photo above. That’s Maxine Clark, CEO, tending to a furry friend during a social media conference where she was a keynote speaker. The bear had the slightest flaw and she immediately took to mending it with so much love and care there was not a dry eye in the room as we all looked on including the sweet little girl whose bear it was.  That moment showed so much about what a Lovey truly is, a friend and companion who has your heart and your dreams woven inside.  And to make sure we never lose them, every Build-A-Bear friend has an identification bar code inside so that should she be lost and returned to a Build-A-Bear store or BQ Headquarters, they can open her up, find out she belongs to your little one, and return her to you safe and sound!

Choose a Lovey that is just right for bedtime snuggling.

For your child, there’s noting more comforting than that familiar Lovey when you finally make it back to your hotel room after a full day of so many new experiences.  And when it comes to your special trip to Disney World, choosing a special new Lovey just for this trip will create memories that will last a lifetime.  You simply must check out the new Build-A-Bear Workshop Disney Princess Bear.  She is durable, washable, and so fun to dress up just like Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White, and Tiana.  Best of all, she is full of pixie dust just like that which surrounds you in the Magic Kingdom and more.  I could not love her Princess Paws and Tiara more and because she is stuffed with love, she really is a Lovey full of dreams come true.

So there you have it ~ straight from the source of a child in the know and her Mom who is a mess for all things Build-A-Bear Workshop.   And because Build-A-Bear Friends are truly forever friends, thanks to their generous team, I have a $25 Build-A-Bear Workshop Gift Card GIVEAWAY just for you!!

    My son has been attached to his blanket since he was an infant. When we went to Disney last year, the rule of the blanket was that it can go on adventures, but stays in the car. Can only imagine the devastation if it were ever to be lost at a park!

      That’s the amazing thing about Disney ~ I’ve heard countless stories about how they have been able to find and return all kinds of special lovies ~ but I still wouldn’t want to ever lose one either =) Thanks for entering!

    On the plane my kid’s lovies usually sit on their laps during the flight but before and when ready to get off the plane they go into the carry on bag so they don’t get left behind. Last year my daughter carried hers basically tucked into her belt to keep her from getting lost or left on a ride. Thankfully she made it through the parks and back home safely while the other stayed safely in the room while we visited the parks.

    My son has a “family” of lovies that he sleeps in bed with at home and when we are on the road – a blanket, an Angry Birds plush, a rubber frog, a plush seahorse, and a stuffed puppy. We have to do role call before leaving the hotel!

      Kevin that is hilarious! Always good to have a head count to make sure all are accounted for =) Thanks for entering!

    We haven’t had the chance to go to Disney, but when we go on car trips, my daughter’s lovey goes with her everywhere (it’s a small blanket with a bear head from Carter’s)
