Life at a conference can be a dizzying pace of new ideas and opportunities. Your days seem endless, you meet more people than you can remember names, and all the while you know that when you get home you’ll have a ton of work waiting for you and pile of new ideas just waiting to be born.
Here are my 3 post conference must dos to help you return to your work organized and ready to integrate new projects and plans.
- Make the most of your travel time home. Organize those business cards, make notes about conversations you may have overlooked, and write thank you notes while your thoughts are still fresh.
- Share at least one blog post, vlog, and Facebook Photo Album as early as you can. This enables you to be part of the conversation while its still timely, engages your community who may not have been able to attend, and well tagged will give a call out to colleagues and brands you hope to stay in touch with.
- Trace out your follow up. Whether it’s a new friend or business prospect, grab your calendar and plan your follow-up strategy. After your initial thank you note send an email and then a call. This way it will stay fresh for you both and you’ll have no trouble picking up right where you left off.
Managing your work load is really project management. With a good to-do list including dates and details you can map out anything and succeed. What will you do first?
