Apex, NC (December 2007) - Today, GO MOM!® INC shares fun solutions for busy families to celebrate their best holiday yet. "December can quickly turn to disaster for busy Moms," states Molly Gold, Founder of GO MOM!® INC. "With countdowns for virtually every holiday experience known to mankind, normal life events, like someone having the flu or an unexpected business trip, sets a domino of destruction tumbling through any Mom's to do list. Murphy's Law is synonymous motherhood but we would all breathe a little easier if it would wait until January to remind us of our limits." Try these GO MOM!® December Shortcuts to keep a month of festivities and family traditions simply delightful, no matter what Murphy has to say:

  • Shopping - Carry a List - When it comes to shopping, if you don't mind the crowds, then conquer the mall in style and enjoy every minute of it. Save time and money by carrying a list of needed gifts with store names noted to keep you focused on your mission. Use the list to stay within your budget, noting purchase prices next to names. Carry addresses of any out of town recipients to give you the option to choose onsite gift wrap and shipping should you choose. And limit your shopping to no more than three trips, between now and December 20th. You'll force yourself to get through this task thoroughly and give yourself time to relax two weeks from now when its all said and done.

  • Greeting and Entertaining - Keep it Short but Sweet - Take a break from your traditional holiday letter and settle in for an family evening and actually sign those Christmas cards yourself. A quick sentiment just for that recipient is more meaningful than a laundry list offering your family's year in review. Reach out and connect with your friends and family with a precious note from the heart. Make signing and assembling Christmas cards a family tradition, not a chore just for Mom. Set the stage with cookies, cocoa, caroling or fun Christmas movies as well and you will double your reward by enjoying dedicated family time during as season that seems to steal our down time before we can even say yes. When it comes to entertaining, hosting a small gathering of cherished friends is a memory worth pursuing. Dare to be different by choosing a non-traditional theme, such as Asian cuisine, in a traditional holiday setting. Your guests will love you for the break and their waistlines will too =)

  • Enjoying - Eat Healthy and Rest - Taking care to eat well, get enough rest, and exercise in December is the best shortcut I know to give you an energetic and fun holiday season. All of these simple self care activities help you stay focused, positive, have the stamina to accomplish longer than usual lists during longer than usual days, and they give you your best defense to fight off our old friend Murphy. So make your 12 days of Christmas into 24 days of health by blocking time every day from December 1 to 24 to take care of your body by working out. If you need to shake it up, switch to thirty minute walks with your family giving you precious time to enjoy each other and take your neighborhood holiday light displays. Write menus for the next 4 weeks for the usual dinner needs and make anything you can now and freeze it to provide for busier nights ahead. And discipline yourself to turn in at a time each night that affords you no less than 7 hours of sleep. This is the key to patience, a great outlook, and a more reasonable soul in any circumstance any time of the year
