I love the start of the school year!  Many of you know my long standing passion for color coding notebooks, folders, and pens for every subject, not to mention my shirts and shoes too!  Looking back now, I absolutely loved the order of a well run classroom and likely would have loved being a teacher. Its an amazing career full of bright and talented leaders who are underpaid and beyond committed to investing in your child's mind and helping them learn in ways you can't even dream of.   Do you remember your favorite teacher?  I had many, but the one that made an investment in me that I'll never forget was Miss Liberty,  4th grade.  She chose me to join her in a summer tutoring program  she hosted at our school helping underserved children stay current on their literacy skills.  Her's was the class where we wrote our first books, publishing them to be shelved in the library available for all to read from the crazy club footed bathtub the librarians had placed front and center for all to enjoy.  I adored her and everything she shared from her time to her belief in me, I knew she was in my corner.  She was a modern day Mr. Ratburn from the popular PBS show Arthur and I'll never forget how empowered I felt that I could learn and lead all in one.

Fast forward to 2010 and today, I'm not a teacher in the classroom but an expert in my specialty and I love sharing new ideas with you to help you find your way to a generally organized and well loved life as a busy Mother.  Check out our Back to School Checklist and our DIY GO MOM! Planner  to get you pointed in the right direction this year.  Remember, it all starts with you...you can't expect your children to be naturally organized...its a freak of nature I happen to be blessed to enjoy.  But for most of us, its a daily grind to figure out which way is up so find your center and then enjoy the year!

I adore your blog and I take to heart so much of what you post and speak about.

I'm in the throws of Mommy-hood with a 2 and 4 year old and a baby on the way. I'm trying to prepare for my 4 year old to go to preschool and my 2 year old for Mom's Day Out.

I have been utilizing the "Back to School Checklist" but I'm confused about a few items. I did a search on your blog but couldn't find the information I needed. Could you help me define a few items?

    1. Project Supply Box
    2. Label Mania

Thank you so much! Also, thank you for sharing your gift with (a very very frazzled) me!

    Hi Molly!

I'm very thankful for all the advice and positive encouragement I gain from your website and Facebook postings. I, too, am glad to be on track as we count down to the first day of school in three weeks. I do have a couple of questions I'd like to pose. My entire household is comprised of students! My five children, my husband, and I will all be in school this year as our youngest heads to Kindergarten. I'm both excited and terrified. Your checklist reads communication center under week two. An instructor recently suggested increasing communication of the needs and desires of family members as studious parents may not notice small changes. What is included in a communication center and what are the main objectives? How do you address the needs and wants of yours while ensuring they understand respecting schedule and space?

    Thank you
