How to Use Coupons to Try New Products

Post

I LOVE to use coupons!  While I’m no pro, I have made the choice, and commitment, to make couponing a priority and found that it truly pays off.  How do I know? Because my grocery bill is getting smaller while my pantry and bathroom shelves for stocking up are getting fuller.  Here are the steps that have gotten me to this place of having my coupon groove on:

1.  I have a binder and I clip and organize coupons weekly.

2.  I purchase more than one paper on weekends when there are lots of coupons already available.

3.  I match my coupons with sale items to to max my savings.

But to really take the next step to further increase our savings, there are two steps I need to add in.  First, I need to start utilizing online coupon sites for additional coupons resources. And second, I need to contact manufactures of my favorite products to be on their mailing list online and for regular mail to receive coupons on the products we know and love.  Like most Moms, I’m busy and I like to maximize my time for its greatest return.  Getting my coupon groove on has taken awhile to reach the point where its just 2nd nature, but going virtual with that process is my next goal and I’m excited to show you how.

I’ve been very fortunate to have first hand exposure to the P&G brand as an attendee at Fabric Care University. While touring the corporate archives, I was surprised to realize that if there’s a product in my home, there’s a 75% chance its part of their brand family.  Completely by chance, its likely that I choose P&G products because my Mom did and I’m sure it doesn’t hurt that I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, home of P&G world headquarters.

But what if I want to try a new product?  Something that catches my eye but isn’t part of my regular consumer products roundup?  Say hello to P&G’s Have YOu Tried it Yet? Designed to introduce us all to something fresh in the P&G family of brands, the program is part of P&G Everyday Solutions.  On online portal for all your favorite brands, P&G Everday Solutions offers access to the P&G Brand Sampler, P&G Brand Saver, and P&G ESaver.  Virtually a one stop shop, membership is free and also brings you home delivered coupons, expert tips and advice, and the latest product news like P&G Try It.

On Sunday, January 29, the P&G brandSAVER will featuring products highlighted in the Have You Tried This Yet? program. This brandSAVER has over $100 in savings, including values on products, such as Charmin® Basic and Downy® Unstopables.  The P&G brandSAVER is found in most every local newspaper, so knowing this I’m sure to pick up an extra paper or two that day and I’m excited to watch for those items to be further reduced by my local grocery sales.

Clipping coupons is a fact of life.  I can’t think of a family I know who wouldn’t love to save more on their bottom line and frankly in today’s tough economy, I can’t think of one valid excuse for leaving money on the table by NOT taking just 30 minutes to clip, sort, and save.  With just a small investment of time each week, you’ll find that savings really adds up.  By using coupons matched to savings I regularly find I’ve reduced my grocery bill by $50 or more.  Tell me…do you clip coupons every week?  How do you find them for product you love and those you’d like to try?

Disclosure:  I was contacted by P&G to check out the P&G Try It Brand Saver Insert available tomorrow.  I received an advance copy of the coupons and you can bet I’ll be picking up extra sets when the Sunday paper rolls out.  I was not compensated to post.  My opinions are my own.
