Today we are talking about how to Spring Clean your Bathroom. Week 2 in our March Series, part of our year long GO MOM!® Organizing Series to help you live like you are moving. Why? Because when you are moving, everything is in tip top shape and you know what? You deserve to live like that all year long and its easy to do. So straight from my own powder room here are some tips about how you can Spring Clean your Bathroom:
Declutter the Bathroom Space
Often the bathroom has all kinds of items on the counter and way too many shampoos, body washes, and other items inside the shower itself. Get rid of them! You only need one of anything at any given time and you certainly don’t need more than each person uses daily. Cleaning caddies full of personal bathroom items is a great way to get things easily stored underneath the cabinets when not in use by the person who needs them. Just like your kitchen you want to keep those surfaces clear and if a guest were to pull back the shower curtain to take a peek (c’mon you know they do it!) you want to make sure they see only the basics.
Replace the Caulk
Caulk is a grime and mold magnet and can make a beautiful bathroom oh so gross. So take some time to scrap out what’s there and add in a brand new layer of white or clear and you’ll be amazed at how fresh and clean it makes the bathroom feel and look.
Clean or Replace the Shower Curtain and Power Clean the Glass
If you can’t wash it then replace it. Its not that big of a deal and they truly arent’ that expensive. If you are like me and more of your bathrooms have glass than not, then its time to get out the power cleaning solutions. We live in a community with well water and have actually found that oven cleaner of all things is the one thing that will get it all off.
Use a Bathroom Cleaning Checklist
Use our bathroom cleaning checklist all year long so that your bathrooms stay clean and when it comes time to Spring Clean next year, it wont’ take you nearly as long.
