Staying fit on the road is a challenge for anyone who travels. But when it comes to a summer full of travel sports for your youth athlete, fitting in those daily workouts while navigating tournament logistics, venues, and countless hotel rooms is a busy team mom’s nemesis. Unless of course you are participating in a tournaments at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports. As in all things, Walt Disney World has you covered. Thanks to a broad and productive partnership with New Balance and runDisney, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to squeeze in that morning run. Check it out!
As part of the Disney Sports Festival, we had a fantastic chance to be in the park before opening and run our way around Epcot Center. Arguably my favorite park thanks to my time spent as an attractions hostess at the Universe of Energy while here as a WDW College Program intern, its also just an enchanting and peaceful place to be. And lets face it, many families love to spend time at Epcot Center because its not as stressful. You can stretch your legs and get out and about for a lovely, leisurely walk around World Showcase. Epcot begs you to meander your way through and discover it’s magic and the morning is a very special time to do that.
New Balance has partnered with ESPN Wide World of Sports not only to sponsor the Track and Field program. but also to provide on-site gear sponsorships, event partnerships, and product innovations only available through runDisney events. Another great thing you’ll find are the New Balance Running Trails. If you were with me today, you’d travel around the hotels right here on the back side of Epcot. The trail takes you past Yacht Club, Beach Club, and The Boardwalk and you’ve got the lovely lake in the center to keep you calm as you run on! I’ve been blessed to stay here twice and can tell you its definitely a runner’s favorite spot with that perfect loop for an early morning run.
The complete list of trails includes Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort Area, Epcot Center Resort Area, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Area, and Magic Kingdom area. While most trails are around 1 mile encouraging you to loop you can find your way throughout the resort one blessed step at a perfect pace time.
If your summer travel schedule has you visiting ESPN Wide World of Sports and staying at a Walt Disney World Resort property, check out the New Balance Running Trails by simply visiting the front desk of your resort property where you’ll find a map for the entire property. Staying fit while on the road has never been easier and you never know where your run might take you or who you might meet along the way.
If you are planning to run a runDisney event at some point this year or next, keep an eye out for the Family Fun Runs you’ll so often see including in the weekend’s events. Women are leading the way with the increase of running as a favorite sport and they are bringing their kids along changing the next generation’s future to keep them fit and healthy from the start. Tell me…

Disclosure: Special thanks to Disney Sports for inviting me to attend the Disney Sports Festival Media Event. I was not asked to post at anytime and my pixie dusted observations about the event are entirely my own. Clearly, I am a huge fan and have been since my Walt Disney World College Program Days. To see the magic of Disney encompass the passion of youth sports is a wonderful thing.
